We know what it’s like to get stuck on the side of the road when you’ve got somewhere important to be, or when you’re trying to enjoy that long-planned trip. A breakdown can really ruin a perfectly good day. They’re inconvenient and expensive. And what’s worse, a roadside emergency in the wrong place at the wrong time can expose you to serious risks!
What's the worst place you've ever broken down? Tell your story below, or comment on someone else's tale of woe!

Two stories -- one bad and one worse.
The first: I was driving my wife's car on the 91 freeway in fast traffic when the rear left tire blew. Luck was on my side, because it didn't shred and I was able to hobble it off the freeway. Also, I was near an exit that just happened to have a tire center located next to it. Still, I missed my appointment as the guy at the tire place sold me 4 new tires -- I had 'Sucker' written on my forehead.
The second: Driving my car from Irvine on the 405. I've got an Allroad with adjustable air suspension, and I noticed the front of my car was dipped and I was bouncing like a lowrider! I pulled off and saw that the front airbags had totally given out and the car was sitting on the front tires. I'm sure some 16-year-olds thought it was cool, but I didn't. Had to wait 2 hours for Audi to come and get the car.

When I was about 17 years old I "broke-down" on the Capital Beltway in Washington D.C. I didn't know what to do so I called my dad, like any 17 year old would do. We came down (about a 2 hour trip for him) and discovered...I had actually run out of gas. Man did I feel like an idiot.
I think I took a few photos of that incident. It was pretty scary on I-495. It was at one of those real waving parts of the road were people drive to fast.
